On May 3rd, the Healthcare Businesswomen’s Association held its annual Woman of the Year event. This year the WOTY was Julie Gerberding, MD, MPH, and executive vice president for strategic communications, global public policy and population health and chief patient officer, Merck & Co., Inc. We will be doing an in-depth profile of Julie later in the year, but you can also see her in this issue, where we cover her Lifetime Achievement Award at eye-for-pharma Philadelphia. We took the opportunity at the HBA event to further our exploration into the many reasons people have chosen to work in this field. Here are the results of our current outing.
